On May 24, 2017, WAVY-10 spotlighted Waldo & Lyle’s role in resisting the efforts of a prominent Virginia Beach developer and the City of Virginia Beach to take the expansive beachside lawn of Oceans Condominium for a boardwalk extension. Oceans Condominium retained Waldo & Lyle to remind the City of Virginia Beach that it is forbidden by Virginia law to use the power of eminent domain to take property from one private landowner and then transfer it to another, like the developer.
